Experimental and Numerical Investigation of Stainless-Steel Products Using Additive Manufacturing.
Using the universities MarkForged Metal X printer, an experiment to investigate the tensile strength of 17-4PH SS via additive manufacture was carried out. Parts were manufactured in 3 orientations being, flat, horizontal, and vertical. The parts were then measured, tested, and analysed. Print orientation heavily affected both the print quality and the part tensile strength.
