I have always had an interest in building an architecture as my family comes from a building background. I completed my bachelor of architecture at UTS and deciding to take a year off to work full time at an architecture firm I decided to transfer over to WSU to gain my masters and fulfil my goal of becoming a registered architect.

the poseidon project

The Poseidon Project is constructed with the sole purpose and aim to give back to nature not only as a response to the toxic works that once affected it but also take a lesson from nature in healing it.

“Nothing is art if it does not come from nature” - Antoni Gaudi

This project is founded in Camilla, Parramatta and due to the many industries, that have been zoned there in the past the environment and nature has had to bear scars. These scars are seen through the poisonous toxins found within the flora and fauna within Parramatta River as all of these pollutants are drained into it.

In the Poseidon Project I have tried to utilise spaces crafted on the sea life that have been affecting being differing species of fish, shellfish and crustaceans to construct a centre whereby the river can be cleaned to one day flourish.

To improve the dioxin levels, we need a centre to do so. This leads to the Poseidon Project a project which through the combination of several spaces will aid the health of Parramatta River. Each of these spaces cater to different ways to aid and heal the sea flora and fauna located here. Through the centre’s dredging system other spaces can interact with each other. Bacteria is to be researched and implemented which can dechlorinate the water and soil, rain gardens to buffer rain off and facilities to reproduce sea life and aid unwell creatures.

To understand the cause and further drive the passion behind it housing will be allocated to those who will conduct works for the site being from educational, research and agricultural backgrounds.
