Thomas Fiorenza

I am a dedicated and hardworking individual looking to become a licensed architect in attempt to improve the built environment. Having no work experience within this industry, I am a motivated and autodidact independent that is willing to step foot in some practice. In the 2 years I have been enrolled in this course, I have learnt that the minimum is not enough and constantly strive to do better.

Bankstown Public School - Design Project

The design aims to connect the neighbouring Bankstown City gardens to the proposal for a fresh and healthy working environment. Inside the building, garden beds have been introduced along the rim of the voided space to improve the overall indoor air quality and promote a healthy working environment.

Placing the canteen at the heart of the proposal, and providing garden spaces around the site also enhances the space to become a place of connectivity through the courtyard and steps that may be used as a gathering point.

The proposal also provides for flexibility between spaces through the use of rotating and sliding doors in order to control what areas are being used during and after school hours. The learning spaces also hold these rotating doors to provide for convertible classroom use and collaborative work between each home base.
